Invitations

This weekend we are heading back to London, yet again!! To watch my Little Sister play Volleyball and also to meet with a Friend of ours. She is a graphic designer by day and invitation maker by night. Not only is she insanely talented, I kind of have a girl crush on her ;) She is a sweetheart and I'm very excited to see if she has any great ideas that we can use.
I have decided that I want to try and make my own invitations. I want our wedding day to be as personal as we can possibly make it. That means I want to try and do as much of the artsy fartsy stuff my self. I've always had a vision of what I wanted my invitations to look like. Some girls dream about there dress/hair/flowers ....not me!! I dream about invitations. (I'm weird, I know... take it or leave it?) That being said I need a little help pulling it all together. I have started to take on a huge undertaking and S has offered her services to help!
Sunday over a delicious breakfast at Cora's we are going to discuss all the fun details about my 'dream' invitations.
If we can pull this off it will be by far one of my fabourite things about our wedding.
I'll keep you posted on how everything is going... I'm going to enlist the services of my friends and family to assemble the final product.... I truly hope that beer and wine will be enough to persuade them to help!! lol

Our MC are "All ABOARD"!!!

This weekend we had the pleasure of driving to Kingsville or as some like to call it 'swingsville' with RG (similar to JC but not quite) and my BFF. We were on route to spend the weekend with "AWESOME" friends of ours P and S. They have just purchased a new home and we had yet to go down and see it. This trip was planned months ago and we have been counting down the days until we were able to see everyone. You see, these are 4 of the most down to earth and funny people that we know. You can only imagine what kind of trouble we got in to.

Let me just start off by saying that this weekend quickly turned in to "Make Fun of KL's Braces as much as Possible Weekend". Somehow BFF decided that it would be a fun game to try and tell as many funny 1 liners about my teeth as possible. I not only thought this was a great idea, I was in charge of handing out the points. Round 1 went to Mr. RG - the comment that put him on the top of the leader board was .. (Someone said something?? and I wasn't paying attention and I asked them to repeat it and) RG said... She can't hear you the Train is going by.... LMAO. All the stars aligned for him and this was a seriously funny comment. There were several other great comments and a bunch of points were handed out ... and the over all winner at the end of the night went to..... this comment - I was so hungry by the time dinner rolled around and I said "I'm so hungry I could eat for 2." and RG stopped everyone and said listen to this one it's a 4 pointer (who awards them self points before the comment is even made?? Apparently RG) "KL is eating for 2 - her AND the conductor." :) The night went on like this.... Pretty funny stuff. Thanks RG for finding such humor in my current situation :P I can't wait for pay back ;)

There were so many other great memories for us but I think the best one will go down as when my BFF handed out the trophy for the "BEST Pumpkin Carver 2008" ( I got a trophy that had a baby pumpkin on it.) I decided to take this moment and ask P & S if they would like to be our MC's at our wedding. They are great friends and we are so blessed to have them in our lives. They are a true example of what a GREAT marriage is and we look up to them so much. They are not only perfect for the job but they are so on it - S even asked if they could get a list of names of people speaking so they could start preparing.... Now that is dedication :)

The memories made this weekend will last a life time. Thanks to the crew this weekend for making our lifes so much fuller. Love KL & Rock DJ

Engagment Pictures

Our amazing photographer.... Eric Rockburn took our engagement pictures in late Sept (it was actually Sept 27th... exactly one year from our wedding) he was so great and posted some of them on his blog (http://ericrockburn.wordpress.com/2008/09/) but this was only a preview. I'm a hardcore scrapbooker... and when it comes to pictures I want them as soon as I can get them. As you can imagin this is killing me, not being able to see them. Eric is a great friend and I know he wouldn't want to torture me like this..... right Eric??? but I'm dieing to see the pictures. This sunday we are meeting up with Eric to pick-up our pictures and so he can show us our online website. He refused to give me the password because he wanted to be there to show them to us. I would like to you know that I have been waiting patiently to see them and this has been killing me.

Sunday- Today we picked up our pictures from Eric and and we are so happy. They are once again better then we anticipated and we can't wait to start putting everything together. We have save the dates to send out. We have our invitations and signing pictures to think about... this is going to be so much fun.

Once I find out where B saved the pictures on the computer I will post some for you.

Until next time.... Yes Eric I will start posting more often...I didn't think that people wanted to hear about what I'm doing on a daily basis... apparently I was wrong. LOL

Pumpkin Carving Competition

Today you are going to learn how competitive I really am. I can find a game in almost anything. B and I can be driving down the road and I will say I bet I can name more songs on the radio then you? (This would actually depend on the station we are on?? If we were on Country I would kick his ass...other wise he would probably kick mine...lol) I would also like you to know that I am not a sore loser - considering how many times I lose to him. If we have played 20 games in the last year I have lost 19 of them. That's how bad I am. I must be a glutton for punishment? However I like to think that I lose graciously, my problem is following through on bets. I'm really bad at that! I'm not sure why?? If I won I'd collect my winnings !! Sometimes I wonder why B is going to Marry me?? I don't really play fair!!

Tomorrow is Halloween and we went Pumpkin picking last weekend for the perfect Jack-o-lantern pumpkins. Brian claims that he is REALLY good at carving pumpkins. In true KL nature I had to take on that challenge. We have set aside this evening for our little competition. We are both going to carve our pumpkins -then let our friends and family vote online for which Jack-o-lantern they think is the best. By tomorrow night we will have the 2008 Pumpkin Carving winner!!!

Please let me know which one you like best??

My Teeth Hurt

First off I would like to welcome you to my first ever BLOG!! This is all very new to me and I will do my best to keep you all up to date on my weekly activities for the wedding as well as the progress on my Teeth situation.

I've always wanted braces... ever since I can remember. When I was young it wasn't cool to have braces and since my top teeth were not that bad I thought I could get away with not having them. Well as an adult I have found that my teeth keep shifting. This has been driving me nuts so once I got engaged (and my fiance was able to add me to his health care plan - not the reason we are getting married - but it sure helps!! lol) I decided it was time to take the plung.

Yesterday was D-day for me. I took half the day off work to get braces on my top teeth. I have to say I am a little vain. I've always idolize people with straight teeth. I love to smile and for me this is going to be a huge self confidence booster. However during the process I have to come to terms with the fact that I'll have these UGLY train track teeth (as my good friend Rob, loved calling me last night :) for the next 9-12 months.

I bet you are wondering when I'm getting married and will I have them on for the wedding? Cross your fingers- if everything goes smoothly then I won't be stuck with these for the wedding... but my dentist has assured me that on Sept 22 ( a few days before my wedding date) if by that time I have not had my braces removed he will remove them, no questions asked. I have to say that I was worried that he would fight me on this one. I'm not sure why, it's not like he's telling me I need open heart surgery and I'm refusing to get it done until after the wedding. They're Braces and I'm paying for them. So basically if I wanted them off tomorrow then I can go back in and he'll remove them.

So far, the pain is about a 4 out of 10. They are some what uncomfortable and my teeth hurt (to be expected). Right now Advil and Tylenol are my new best friends.

Check back soon and I will post some pictures of the before and after....
